4100.10 Reproductive and Child Health

Goal

Provides an understanding of sexual and reproductive health at the beginning of the 21st century and presents the scope of child health linked to that of maternal health.

Contents

As core course of the Master in International Health, this one-week module focuses on the special health needs of mothers and children at district level in countries with resources constrains (introduction to sexual and reproductive health and rights, the challenges around family planning, issues of safe motherhood, maternal, newborn and child health, HIV/AIDS, socio-cultural and economic mediators of sexual and reproductive health).

Target audience

  • Advanced course in the former and new curriculum (optional)
  • Participants working in a medical or pedagogical profession or with a background in natural sciences

Requirements

  • At least two years of professional experience
  • Working experience in developing countries is a plus
